About Mandy
My name is Mandy Summers-Smith and I have been blessed to have lived in many parts of our beautiful country.  My father was an Air Force officer & I grew up in Arizona as a child, attended high school in the DC/Baltimore area & then went on to study at Marymount College in New York, Queen Mary College in England and La Universidad of Salamanca in Spain. While studying in Europe, I developed a deep love of art, architecture and design. My Senior year, I was accepted into a working internship program at the United Nations in Manhattan and finally graduated with dual bachelor's degrees in International Business and Political Science and a minor in Spanish.

I began my career in public relations & accounting & then committed to staying at home once my beautiful children were born. I must confess, I missed being in the workforce, and post divorce, I was determined to pursue a flexible career that would allow me to provide for, and still spend time with my amazing son & daughter. So, I went back to school to study Interior Design & earned my certification. Fortunately, I found a job immediately in my new chosen field & worked for a small firm that did both residential and commercial Interior Design. In 2008, I took an enormous leap of faith and decided to go into business for myself. I fell in love with a double space at the Old Cotton Mill in Lexington and began restoring it.  By 2013, I had outgrown that space & I took yet another leap of faith & rented the entire plaza at 202 West Main Street in Lexington.  I completely renovated that building too & have loved the result!  My business has grown & thrived in our current location.  I have added the amazing Meloney Stuckey, the awesome Kelly Chaffins as well as 48 other talented artisans & exhibitors to the gallery.  Most recently, in December of 2017, I had the honor of marrying Mr. Gregory Smith & appreciate all the love & support he gives me & our entire M Gallery family.

Over the past 11 years, we have been humbled by many accolades.  We have won the Best of Lexington in the Interior Design category numerous times by the readership of Lexington Life Magazine & have also been nominated for Best of Columbia in the Interior Design Studio category by Columbia Metropolitan Magazine.  We have had both our commercial & resdiential design concepts published countless times in Columbia Metropolitan Magazine as well as in Lexington Woman Magazine.  Through our notoriety we have been given many wonderful opportunitities to give back to our community!  Columbia Metropolitan Magazine has been inviting us to participate in their American Cancer Society Dream Homes for several years now.  We were recently thrilled to have been chosen for the cover of their prestigious  magazine in October of 2018.  We have also been honored to be on the cover of Lexington Woman Magazine, Lexington Life Magazine, as well as & to have been the recipient of the Greater Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center Small Business Person of the Year back in 2012.

Our urban industrial gallery hosts an amazing ensemble of local, national & international artists and exhibitors. We host events like “Meet the Artists” nights and are available to come to your home or office to consult with you. We have an amazing source of talents,
